A GLIMPSE INTO MY WORLD
ABOUT ME
Ola, I'm Daniel Ajith, a 19 year old filmmaker. As a kid, I was completely absorbed by movies and music. My first big musical obsessions were Yanni and Leopold Stokowski, which probably explains why my brain constantly thinks in dramatic, orchestral scores. I even grew up playing the piano, so I've always had a hands-on connection to music.
Whatever I do in the field of art is mostly influenced by all the films and music I've ever consumed. I'm especially obsessed with the storytelling titans Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and Christopher Nolan. I also get a ton of ideas from the wild visual art of Gawx and the deep-thinking director Stanley Kubrick.
So yeah, my creative taste is a little... chaotic.
Ultimately my goal is to weave all of these diverse influences together, creating my own unique brand of visual and sonic storytelling.
The Creative Block
It took me nearly nine months to make this film, balancing both my hobbies, college work and the ironic fact that I had experienced the very phenomenon it explores. "The Creative Block" dives into this feeling through a three-chapter journey which in a way, can be used to explain the cyclic nature of life itself.

These are some of the projects I've worked on with other people.
The First Step
"The First Step" is a film I made for my brother, Joshua Mathew. Offering a raw, unfiltered, and intimate look into the life of an upcoming game developer and the start of his social media presence as JoshMatDev.
It's a journey that goes beyond just code and pixels, diving deep into his personal story. You'll experience the wild rollercoaster of his ambition, facing both the creative challenges and unexpected setbacks, and celebrating the breakthroughs that come with sheer dedication. It's a compelling portrayal of passion, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of a dream in the ever-evolving world of gaming.
Utopia
"UTOPIA" is a compelling experimental short 3D animated film, a collaborative creation by myself and Mithul Sridhar. What began as a late-night “what if” between friends turned into a fun philosophical dive into a new Earth where humanity ceases to exist.
We then challenged ourselves to bring this abstract concept to life in just a few weeks. It became an exciting experiment in rapid creative execution, pushing us to see what kind of narrative we could build from a simple dialogue. Mithul created the 3D animations, and I did the music and editing.
Now Recording
"NOW RECORDING" is a seven-minute experimental college horror film that plunges into the unsettling experience of a young woman who makes a strange discovery among her late father's belongings. This finding exposes a disturbing truth hidden in plain sight, pulling her into a sinister plot she never knew existed.
As part of a challenge this experimental short film was brought to life in less than a week by a dedicated group of college friends
Directed and edited by me and Lalremruata Khiangte, the film features a taut screenplay penned by Ronit John and Sameer Joshi. Anusha Pal and Olivia Padankatti crafted the cinematography.
I composed the music score and sound design, and Robin Baruah handled casting. Poosha Sariya, Anusha Pal, and Allen Shaijan were in charge of costume and set design.
